Are these leads exclusive?

We surface a fresh permit and the adjacent trades that should act on it, and you reach out first, the day it files, before the homeowner has chosen the next contractor. You are upstream of the buyer, not sixth in line behind a shared-lead blast.

If a permit is filed, doesn’t the owner already have a contractor?

For the trade named on the permit, yes, and we would not pretend otherwise. That job is already let. What the filing tells you is what has not been hired yet: a new build names a general contractor months before anyone orders windows, appliances, a pool or landscaping, and a re-roof names a roofer while the solar and the gutters are still unlet. That is why every permit in your feed is tagged with the adjacent trades it creates rather than the one that pulled it, so you are calling about the part of the job nobody has quoted. Where the record names the contractor of record, you get that name too, which is the call to make when the buyer you want is the builder rather than the owner.

How fresh is the data?

We pull building permits from public open-data feeds every day and deliver them by ~6 AM CT. A permit filed this morning can be in your feed the same day.

Which cities are covered?

We are live across five states: Texas, Colorado, Florida, Arizona and California. Texas runs from Austin and Fort Worth through San Antonio, San Marcos, Midland and unincorporated Harris County. Colorado covers Denver, Aurora, Adams County, Boulder and Colorado Springs. Florida is Miami-Dade, Orlando, Cape Coral and Hillsborough County. Arizona is Gilbert, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Peoria and unincorporated Maricopa County. California covers Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego, Sacramento County, Anaheim and Corona. A handful of big-city cores still route their permits behind login walls with no open daily feed, so we cover the surrounding suburbs and add the cores as that data opens. Houston and Dallas proper are the main gaps. Every market shows you what its permit record publishes, and that varies by city: some name the contractor with a phone number, some name the property owner, some name both.

Do I get contact info, or just the address?

You get everything the public permit record publishes, and in many cities that is a lot. Every lead carries the address and the adjacent-buyer signal. Where the record names the contractor, you see the name, and in Austin, Miami-Dade and Orlando the record usually carries the contractor’s phone as well, at no extra charge. San Antonio and Sugar Land name the contractor without a phone. Where the record is silent, a one-click lookup pulls the contractor’s business phone and website from Google business data, included with every plan. For property owners, we show the owner name and mailing address from the public record wherever the county or city publishes them.

Why doesn’t PermitVector sell homeowner phone numbers?

Because that is a specialist business and we are not the specialist. Permit records are public documents, and turning them into fast, well-scored leads is our whole product. Personal contact data comes from different sources and is sold under different rules, and it is done best by companies built for exactly that. So each lead carries a direct path to registered providers such as PropertyRadar, and you buy from them on their terms, usually in a couple of minutes. Anything you buy can be stored on the lead in your PermitVector dashboard, either one at a time or as a CSV import, so your pipeline stays in one place. You are the caller: outreach compliance (TCPA, CAN-SPAM, Do-Not-Call) is yours regardless of where the number came from.

Where does the data come from?

Public records: the open-data permit portals of the cities and counties we cover across Texas, Colorado, Florida, Arizona and California, plus state licensing and regulatory agencies (such as the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation and the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies).
